San Jose Earthquakes Vs. Chicago Fire: Chris Wondolowski Helps One Bad Team Beat Another

The San Jose Earthquakes and Chicago Fire played a match that nobody watched. I suppose it matters. 2012 MLS SuperDraft (can we drop the "Super" from the name please?) positioning is on the line so there is that. Anyways, the Earthquakes won 2-0 and all 14 of their fans were excited, while the Fire fans that gave up on their team a year and a half ago pretended they were shocked and outraged at the play of their team.

It took 10 minutes for the opening goal and it was a quality finish by Chris Wondolowski that won it for the Quakes. Rafael baca whipped a ball in from the left that found Wondolowski at the back post and the striker hit it first touch on the volley for the opener. This being a match-up between two bad teams, an awful had to equal out that good by Wondowlski so he had a penalty saved later in the match. Not that it mattered. Ramiro Corrales added a second goal and San Jose still won.
