Barcelona Vs. AC Milan, 2011 UEFA Champions League: Messi Hits The Post

AC Milan might not be pouring too much energy into getting the ball forward and securing another vital away goal, but when they do take the ball into the Barcelona half, they look more concentrated than their opponents, able to slow down play and frustrate the home side. Clarence Seedorf, the veteran midfielder captaining Milan this evening, has already forced Dani Alves into conceding a free kick, simply by dancing around the ball and sheltering it from the Barcelona defense.

But nerves are still a bit of an issue for Milan. Alexandre Pato, the goalscorer, is terrifying when he gets the ball, speeding through the Barcelona defense. Yet when he sent the ball through to Kevin-Prince Boateng, the Ghanaian sent his shot sky high into the stands, despite having plenty of time to settle himself.

And who had Mark Van Bommel for the first yellow card in the match? He's conceded a free kick, pure foolishness when Lionel Messi is involved, but fortunately for Milan, the football god has hit the post.
