Want to know how to set a UEFA Champions League record? Decide you are going to run faster than everyone else and do it earlier in a match than anyone has every done it before. That's what Alexandre Pato did, essentially just out-running the Barcelona defense to get in alone on goal and finish, doing so a mere 23 seconds into the match. Yup, that would be a new Champions League record for quickest goal and it has also stunned "invincible" Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Run, Duck, run!
VIDEO: Pato Scores Fastest Goal In UEFA Champions League History For AC Milan Vs. Barcelona
Pretty much everyone agreed that Milan was the most dangerous team in Pot 2 during the draw and this is why. There aren’t a lot of teams outside of Pot 1 with someone like Pato who can go ahead and just score a goal on his own. Barcelona have a real battle on their hands now and they still have to stop the Duck for another 89 minutes and 37 seconds. Good luck.
Edit: Well Mr. TV announcer was wrong. This isn’t the fastest goal ever because this is the fastest goal ever. Still, 23 seconds is pretty fast.
