CONCACAF Champions League, Herediano Vs. Seattle Sounders: Fredy Montero Grabs Lead Back

Fredy Montero sure is a greedy bugger. The Seattle Sounders forward, apparently not content with taking a chance that Roger Levesque's shot was going to cross the goal line, put just enough of his foot on the ball to claim his second goal of the match to give the Sounders a 2-1 lead over Herediano in their CONCACAF Champions League match on Wednesday.

The goal continued a fantastic run of form for Montero, who has now scored four goals in his past three games. Those games have stretched over three different competitions and have displayed different kinds of skill. His first goal of the night was a spectacular strike from about 15 yards out. His second of the evening was purely about effort and opportunity. Levesque did most of the work, putting a nice cross through the goal box that the Herediano goalkeeper was unable to handle. The ball seemed destined to cross the line, but Montero was not about to take any chances to made a lunging stab at it put it in the back of the net.
