Much like the early round of fixtures in the UEFA Europa League's first matchday, the late round didn't produce much in the way of surprises. Udinese notched an expected win, Fulham FC and FC Twente drew, and Atletico Madrid defeated Celtic.

Anderlecht and AZ Alkmaar were the most impressive teams during the late games, as both pulled out 4-1 wins over AEK Athens and Malmo FF respectably. American international striker Jozy Altidore had a big part in AZ's win, scoring a fantastic goal to keep his rich vein of scoring form alive.
