Manchester United Vs. Chelsea On Tape Delay On FOX, Live On FSC; Live EPL Game Will Air On FOX Before Super Bowl

Based on their improved studio and their coverage of the UEFA Champions League on FOX network television, the writing has been on the wall for some time that FOX is looking to slowly but surely push their soccer properties on a wider audience. On Sunday, they push a little bit farther by showing Chelsea vs. Manchester United on FOX on tape delay, paired up with the NFL.

If you want to watch it live, fear not! The game is still live on FOX Soccer Channel.

This is one of four Premier League games that FOX plans to show on network television this year. Only one of those games - one played the day of the Super Bowl - will be shown live. And wouldn't you know it? Another Chelsea-Man United game is scheduled for that week.

If you’re a fan of the EPL who wants more coverage in the United States, the viewership numbers are encouraging enough to force FOX (and possibly ESPN/ABC) into showing more games on more prominent properties.

Fox is reporting booming audiences, and says ratings for the early-season EPL games on Fox Soccer among the coveted 18- to 34-year old demographic are up 76% from a year earlier.

Manchester United vs. Chelsea kicks off at 11:00 am ET, 4:00 pm local time and can be seen live on FSC. The FOX broadcast of the game will take place either at 2:00 pm ET or 4:30 pm ET, depending on whether your local FOX affiliate has an early or late NFL game.
