Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Liverpool Live, 2011 Premier League: Another Red, Two More Spurs Goals Compound Liverpool Misery

'Ill-judged, ill-timed and rather stupid' is the way the commentators are describing Martin Skrtel's attempted tackle on Gareth Bale... and, well, they're right. The Slovak went in through the back of the Welsh winger and left Mike Jones with very little option but to show a second yellow and a red for the second time in the match, leaving Liverpool down to nine players while Tottenham Hotspur run rampant.

Spurs have taken full advantage of the situation, scoring twice in quick succession following that red card. Jermain Defoe was the first to find the net, turning Luis Enrique before firing in at the near post and Emmanuel Adebayor made it 3-0 seconds later after taking advantage of a Pepe Reina fumble with a clever little flick. Jay Spearing and Craig Bellamy have been deployed for the Reds, but this is just an exercise in damage limitation now, trying to avoid an even uglier scoreline than 3-0.
