La Liga's biggest show of the next few weeks takes place on Wednesday, with Barcelona taking on Valencia, but there were three decent games on Tuesday that deserve a little bit of attention. Sevilla continued to look a bit disappointing, while Villarreal recovered from their early slump.
La Liga Week 4: Sevilla Slip, Villarreal Get Back On Track Tuesday
Osasuna 0-0 Sevilla
It’s tough to figure out exactly how a team with the talent of Sevilla isn’t winning games. There doesn’t appear to be any particular obvious problem on the pitch. They get a small pass for this one, though, since Osasuna are absolutely brilliant at picking up 0-0 and 1-1 draws against superior teams at home.
Real Sociedad 1-0 Granada
Something tells me La Real isn’t going to be a bottom feeder this season and that they’re going to be comfortably mid-table. Granada...they might struggle to stay up. Daniel Estrada scored the winner with an absolutely stunning 25 yard strike in the 64th minute.
Villarreal 2-0 Mallorca
The score of this one doesn't come close to hinting at what actually went on here. Near misses, good saves and clears off the line were the story of the day. Something like Villarreal 4-2 Mallorca might have been a more telling scoreline. Giuseppe Rossi and Nilmar were the goal scorers, with the former deserving more than one. Even when his team has struggled, the Italian-American has been excellent this year.
