Through just 13 minutes of play, both Valencia and Barcelona both have a goal to their credit. Los Che scored the opener, absolutely gifted to them, but Barcelona answered quickly with a brilliant Barca-esque goal. Both teams are looking confident and willing to commit numbers forward, so it seems unlikely that the scoring is going to end here at 1-1.
Valencia Vs. Barcelona Live, 2011 La Liga: Los Che, Blaugranas Both Strike Early
The opening goal was an own goal, and it was a terrible one to give away by Eric Abidal. On a low cross into the box from Jordi Alba, close to the six-yard area, Abidal should have been able to easily put the ball out for a corner with his right. Instead, he decided to get a little tricky with his left and failed miserably, sending the ball into the back of the net.
Lionel Messi and Pedro created an equalizer instantly, and it was a fantastic one. Messi put a great ball into the box for Pedro to run onto and with his first touch, he finished past Guaita with a hard and low shot, leveling the match.
