Apparently Rafa Marquez has no part to play in the New York Red Bulls' troubles. In fact, he is completely absolved of any blame because he's just that much better than his teammates. In yet another ugly Red Bulls loss, Marquez was booed every time he touched the ball and after the match made sure that everyone knew that the awful defending and poor play by the time had nothing to do with him because he's just that much better than the rest of his team.
Rafa Marquez Says He’s Too Good For His Red Bulls Teammates
”I think this is a team game and unfortunately there isn’t an equal level between my teammates and I,’’ Marquez told the New York Post before gesturing to the crowd. “I’m not paying attention to that. I’m actually focusing on my game…I’m focusing on performing at my highest performance, at the highest level. That doesn’t mean the whole back line can perform at the same level, that’s the problem.’’
That’s it, Rafa, you’re just too good for the rest of your team and are definitely playing up to the level of the league’s third highest paid player. You have been sterling. Or maybe he’s right. Maybe he’s not up to the level of his teammates?
