With cross-city rivals AC Milan falling out of the hunt for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez after failing to offload Alexandre Pato to Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan have stepped into the breach, making a formal approach for the Argentine. Their valuation? Well, not as much as City would have been hoping for, that's for sure: £20.7M
Inter Milan Make Carlos Tevez Bid
Inter Milan have jumped into the Carlos Tevez fray, although it’s unlikely that their initial bid of £20.7M will pursuade Manchester City to part with their former captain.
Our offer is 25m euros - now it depends on them whether they accept. The offer is there. Now we are free to decide whether to go ahead or not.
Do we need Tevez? At this moment, it seems not, but football gives different answers every day.
£20.7M will almost certainly be too low to snatch Tevez away from City's clutches, but Roberto Mancini's side are in something of a bind. Tevez isn't playing and they need to get rid of him following his refusal to take the field for the team against Bayern Munich in September, and the longer this drags on the lower this eventual fee is going to get, unless they can spark some kind of bidding war. So far, that hasn't materialised, and we're not really any closer to figuring out where Tevez will ultimately wind up.
