FA Cup Third Round Replays: QPR, Leicester, Millwall And Bolton All Advance

Queens Park Rangers vs. MK Dons

QPR and MK engaged in a thrilling pitched battle at Loftus Road with the home side just barely emerging victorious. It was a match featuring brilliant saves, last ditch defending, and horrendous misses. The League One visitors played very well and were on top of their hosts for much of the match, but chances were coming thick and fast at both ends and only some brilliant work by Dons goalkeeper David Martin (and some help from Phil Dowd) prevented the minnows from going into the break down.

The was more pressure on the QPR goal in the second half, but it was the Premier League team who eventually made the breakthrough when Danny Gabbidon nodded home a corner from Shaun Wright-Phillips in the 73rd minute. The goal took most of the fight out of MK, and QPR managed, with minimal fuss, to ease into the fourth round and a home match against Chelsea with a 1-0 win.

Leicester vs. Nottingham Forest

Leicester won this match 4-0. The video below gives an adequate summary of how Forest’s night went.

Millwall vs. Dagenham & Redbridge

Darius Henderson grabbed a hattrick and Harry Kane a brace as relegation-threatened Millwall slaughtered League Two opponents Dagenham. It took just seven minutes for the hosts to score, they added another just before halftime and absolutely poured it on in the second, notching three times in the twenty minutes following the interval to give the League Two visitors no chance whatsoever for a comeback. The 5-0 victory sees Millwall drawn at home against Championship leaders Southampton.

Bolton Wanderers vs. Macclesfield Town

A first minute goal from Kevin Davies put Bolton on track to an easy home win against lowly Macclesfield and Martin Petrov's strike before the half-hour mark had passed made it all but unthinkable that the visitors would make life as difficult for Owen Coyle's men as they did in the original tie, but a touch of complacency allowed Macclesfield to come back into the game and make like difficult for the Bolton defence. Still, it wasn't enough to seriously threaten Adam Bogdan's net, and the Trotters ended up with a 2-0 win and a place against Swansea in the next round.
