Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid, 2012 El Clasico: Ronaldo Denied By Pinto

Barcelona have settled down a little bit in possession but it's still Real Madrid who look - by far - more likely to score. The visitors are absolutely destroying Barcelona's back four on the counterattack, and they just came up with yet another great chance after a Barcelona attack petered out on the edge of their box.

Kaka did brilliantly to bring the ball away, then left Gerard Pique in a heap in the centre circle after a great bit of skill. With Mesut Ozil and Gonzalo Higuian drawing everyone but Dani Alves to the right, the Brazilian opted to slip Cristiano Ronaldo in instead, and Alves did just about enough to put the Portuguese off his shot and he ended up hitting it straight at Jose Manuel Pinto.

That's not to say Barcelona are entirely toothless - a mistake by Xabi Alonso should probably have resulted a goal and we probably wouldn't have been scoreless if not for a mistake by Cesc Fabregas as he tried to conduct a three-on-one attack. It's been a great match so far; hopefully that can continue.
