Manchester City Vs. Liverpool, 2012 Premier League: Final Score, Ten-Man Citizens Win 3-0

Liverpool had more of the possession against Manchester City while completing more passes and a higher percentage of passes, but that didn't translate into good football. Though the stats won't tell this story, the Citizens were clearly the superior team at Eastlands on Tuesday, and though they had a man sent off, they were able to cruise to an easy 3-0 win. Liverpool struggled to create clear-cut scoring chances, while they should have done better on all of City's goals.

Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure put City up 2-0 at halftime with a couple of early goals. Aguero's came just 10 minutes in on a shot from 20 yards out, dipping under the arm of Pepe Reina. Toure's came on a brilliant header on a corner, as he easily rose above his defender to get to the ball.

Gareth Barry was shown a second yellow and sent off in the 73rd minute, but Liverpool gifted City the clinching goal just one minute later. Martin Skrtel was called for a foul on Toure in the box, leading Michael Jones to give a penalty. The contact was light and Toure embellished, but Skrtel was silly to put himself in a position to give away that penalty. James Milner stepped up and converted, clinching the win for the Citizens.
