New York Red Bulls Re-Sign Joel Lindpere

The speculation that Joel Lindpere is heading to Europe can be put to rest, as the New York Red Bulls announced they had re-signed their midfielder to a multi-year contract on Tuesday. Lindpere has been arguably the Red Bulls' most consistent player since joining the team before the 2010 season, and is coming off a year in which he had seven goals and seven assists.

“Joel has been an important part of our progress over the last two seasons and has become one of our most popular players because of his work rate, performance and commitment to the club,” New York General Manager Erik Soler said in a team release. “We wanted to reward him with a new contract to recognize his efforts and are excited that we agreed to a new contract with him. We look forward to having him as a Red Bull in the coming years, as we aim to win the MLS Cup.”
