FC Nordsjaelland vs. Juventus: Final score 1-1, The Old Lady grabs a point late

Mirko Vucinic saved a point for Juventus with a late goal to keep their slim hopes of getting out of the group alive... barely.

For just under 81 minutes, it looked like FC Nordsjaelland would pull off a massive upset over the Italian giants Juventus. It wasn't to be though as Mirko Vucinic saved the Old Lady and kept their dwindling hopes of getting out of Group E alive for now.

Juventus were dominant for most of the game, but squandered chance after chance in the first half. The second half began in much the same fashion but a unnecessary foul led to Nordsjaelland getting the match's first goal. Giorgio Chiellini barged in to Andreas Laudrup, just on the edge of the Juve penalty area, giving Nordsjaelland a dangerous free kick opportunity. Mikkel Beckmann stepped up a curled a perfect strike over the wall that tucked itself nicely in to top right corner of the goal.

The Bianconeri spent the rest of the half scrambling, desperately trying to pull back a goal, which they finally did in the 81st minute. Mauricio Isla sent a cross in to the Nordsjaelland box that found Vucinic, who buried his shot to even the match at 1-1.

Nicklas Bendtner had a great chance to become a hero in the 87th minute, but sent his open header from Paolo De Ceglie's cross well wide of the goal.

This is the third straight draw for Juvenutus in the group stages and their ninth straight draw in European competition overall. They remain in third place in the group, one point behind Chelsea for second, and four behind the group leader Shakhtar Donetsk.
