BATE Borisov vs. Valencia, 2012 UEFA Champions League: Final score 0-3, Roberto Soldado nets a hat trick

Roberto Soldado scored three times on Tuesday, guiding Valencia to victory over BATE Borisov.

BATE Borisov's luck ran out on Tuesday as they ran into a class striker on top form. The Belarusians kept Valencia at bay for the entirety of the first half until they gave away a penalty right before the break. Put into a situation they hadn't seen in their first two games -- their opponent scoring first -- BATE struggled. The man who converted that penalty, Roberto Soldado, went on to score twice more from open play, recording a hat trick in Los Che's 3-0 win.

Soldado also won the penalty, drawing a drip from Marko Simić, who was shown a yellow card for his foul. In the 55th minute, Soldado secured his team's lead with his second goal, volleying a cross from Andres Guardado into the back of the net. He showed even more class on his final goal with a terrific pass to Tino Costa, who whipped in a cross for Soldado to turn in, completing a hat trick in Champions League for the second time in his career.
