This one is pretty simple. City need a win and Ajax can all but ruin the English club’s Champions League campaign by denying them full points.
Ajax vs. Manchester City: Lineups
Roberto Mancini has rewarded Edin Džeko with the start after his recent excellent form that included two late goals in City's comeback win over West Brom on the weekend. No major surprises otherwise, though Samir Nasri will have the job of filling the role left by the injury to David Silva.
Ajax role out the exact same lineup they've used in their first two Champions League matches, with the former Liverpool man Ryan Babel leading the attack.
Ajax starting lineup (4-1-4-1): Kenneth Vermeer; Toby Aldenweireld, Niklas Moisander, Daley Blind, Ricardo Van Rhijn; Christian Poulsen, Christian Eriksen, Siem De Jong, Lasse Schöne; Tobias Sana, Ryan Babel.
Manchester City starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Joe Hart; Micah Richards, Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott, Gaël Clichy; James Milner, Gareth Barry; Samir Nasri, Yaya Touré; Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko.
