Pescara vs Lazio, Final Score 0-3: Eagles Sink The Dolphins

Three first half goals were enough to defeat Pescara, as Lazio continue to soar.

A brace from Miroslav Klose and one from Hernanes set the Biancocelesti on their way to a 3-0 victory, allowing them to treat the second half more like a training match.

Pescara missed the injured Francesco Modesto, Alessandro Crescenzi and Uros Cosic, while Vladimir Weiss and Damiano Zanon were suspended.

Mauro Zarate has apparently been frozen out of the Lazio squad for as of yet undisclosed reasons. Last week's goal hero Ederson also didn't make the trip as he joined the Lazio injury list.

It took five minutes for Lazio to take the lead. Hernanes curled a trademark 25 yard free kick around the wall and past a helpless Mattia Perin.

Klose doubled the lead on 25 minutes after picking up an Antonio Candreva through ball and rounding Perin to tap home.

Ten minutes later, Klose claimed his second with a free header from a corner. The German barely broke a sweat with either strike and now moves onto five goals for the season.

Both sides made changes in the second half. Hernanes blazed a shot over from the edge of the D after being afforded too much space. Pescara apparently didn’t heed the Brazilian’s first strike.

The hosts finally came to life in the last 20 minutes. Jonathas turned Andre Dias inside out, but his ball into the box was cut out by Cristian Ledesma.

Federico Marchetti put down his newspaper to tip Gianluca Caprari and Juan Fernando Quintero free kicks over the bar.

Elvis Abbruscato found himself in a good position, but cruelly slipped upon pulling the trigger and the ball fell disappointingly wide.

Quintero came close once more, curling another free kick inches wide of the post. Aged just 19, the Colombian looks an exciting prospect for the Dolphins.

In the dying minutes, Hernanes pulled back for Candreva to shoot straight at Perin, while Alvaro Gonzalez fired the final chance over.

Pescara: Perin; Balzano, Terlizzi, Capuano, Bocchetti; Cascione, Colucci, Blasi (Jonathas 46); Caprari, Vukusic (Abbruscato 66), Quintero (Celik 56)

Lazio: Marchetti; Konko (Cavanda 60), Dias, Biava (Cana 85), Lulic; Ledesma; Candreva, Gonzalez, Hernanes, Mauri; Klose (Floccari 72)

Goals: Hernanes 5 (L) Klose 25, 35 (L)
