LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders: Halftime score 1-0, Robbie Keane scores just before the break

The Seattle Sounders looked like they would make it to halftime still scoreless with the LA Galaxy, but the Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan connection did them in just before the break. Donovan got on the end of a ball in the box, dribbled to the end line then chipped all the way across to the far post, where Keane was waiting to head home for the 1-0 lead.

The goal makes things tough on Seattle, who would probably like to make a run at leveling this match, but are playing without the injured Mauro Rosales and Eddie Johnson. Johnson is available on the bench and Sigi Schmid did say that he was getting close to 100%, but he isn't there yet.

Without Rosales and Johnson, the Sounders haven't managed much of anything that resembles an attack. Fredy Montero is all alone up top and without any support, he has looked clueless on the ball. He looks for help every time he gets it, but it is rarely there for him and the Seattle attack stalls as a result.

Meanwhile, LA has had no problem getting into the attack, even if clear cut chances at goal have been tough to come by. The Galaxy have terrorized the Sounders' left, running down and getting free space to attack from down the flank almost at will. It was that side that led to the goal, too, with Sean Franklin crossing from the Galaxy's right, Christian Wilhelmsson dummying, and eventually Donovan finding Keane.
