FC Porto are already through, top of their group, undefeated, and at home to a side that has lost 10 consecutive Champions League games. That should tell you all you need to know about this fixture.
FC Porto vs. Dinamo Zagreb 2012: Preview and TV schedule
Porto are heavy favourites to overpower Dinamo Zagreb in a game that means little to either side.
Of course, Porto boss Vitor Pereira paid the usual lip service, saying “We know Zagreb want to end their losing streak here, so to win we’ll have to be dynamic and play with intensity... there are no easy games in the Champions League”, but he will be aware that the match is effectively a dead rubber and a near-certain victory.
Dinamo, on the other hand, have nothing to lose so may well simply turn up and have a go, so it’s possible that it could be an entertaining spectacle. But with the match meaning little to either team and such a gulf in quality between the two teams, it seems unlikely.
FC Porto injuries and suspensions
Out: Maicon (foot), Fernando (muscle strain), Alex Sandro (muscle strain).
Dinamo Zagreb injuries and suspensions
Out: Ante Rukavina (flu). In Doubt: Domagoj Vida (toe), Alen Halilović (calf), Arijan Ademi (ankle) Mateo Kovačić (tendon)
Maicon, Fernando, and Alex Sandro are all expected to sit out the encounter for Porto, with the Portuguese club unlikely to take any chances risking players against Dinamo.
Dinamo had four players sit out training on Sunday, but all are now expected to be ready to feature to some degree in the game. Ante Rukavina, however, will definitely miss out.
