Manchester United vs. Queens Park Rangers: Lineups

Wayne Rooney returns to Manchester United's starting line-up as they face Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford.

The England striker had been missing with a bout of tonsilitis, but returns to take up a spot just behind Robin Van Persie for the Red Devils. Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher will play behind him in midfield, while Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young start on the flanks. Jonny Evans starts despite Ferguson's claim that he would play no part.

Queens Park Rangers adjust to life without Mark Hughes with a surprise start for Kieron Dyer. Shaun Derry and Alejandro Faurlin also start in midfield. with Djibril Cisse leading the line up front.

Manchester United: Anders Lindegaard; Rafael, Jonny Evans, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra; Ashley Young, Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck; Robin van Persie.

Queens Park Rangers: Julio Cesar; Stephane Mbia, Clint Hill, Ryan Nelsen, Armand Traore; Shaun Derry, Alejandro Faurlin, Jamie Mackie, Adel Taarabt, Kieron Dyer; Djibril Cisse.
