Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher will play behind him in midfield, while Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young start on the flanks. Jonny Evans starts despite Ferguson's claim that he would play no part.
Queens Park Rangers adjust to life without Mark Hughes with a surprise start for Kieron Dyer. Shaun Derry and Alejandro Faurlin also start in midfield. with Djibril Cisse leading the line up front.
