Borussia Dortmund overcame an early Mainz goal to win 2-1 and move into second place behind Bayern Munich.

Mainz took a lead in the 4th minute after a brilliant goal from Daniel Caligiuri. Elkin Soto played a ball behind the BVB defense, and Caligiuri volleyed the ball from the top of the box past Roman Weidenfeller for the 1-0 lead. The goal is surely a goal of the week candidate.

Marco Reus continued his brilliant play with another excellent goal from outside of the penalty area. He dribbled in from the left side and curled it to the far post out of the reach of Christian Wetklo.

Robert Lewandowski made it 2-1 before the half. Mario Götze played a through ball to the Polish international, and he lifted the ball over the head of the onrushing Wetklo.

BVB jump over both Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt with the win into second place. However, they still sit nine points behind Bayern Munich.
