Hannover beat Augsburg 2-0 for their first win in four matches. They move into the Europa League positions while Augsburg remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the table. The result means that Augsburg have only won once in their first ten matches.

Mame Biram Diouf gave the hosts the lead in the 26th minute. Lars Stindl crossed the ball in from the right side, and the Senegalese forward finished perfectly for his third goal of the season. The goal is Diouf's third of the season in only his third start. He was coming back from an injury at the start of this campaign, and he's now back on full form.

Stindl and Diouf swapped roles in the 85th minute. Diouf fed the ball to the top of the penalty area where Stindl was waiting. The midfielder took a touch and curled the ball to the far post out of the reach of Simon Jentzsch to put the game away.
