Real Betis have catapulted themselves into a Champions League place with a brilliant second half performance, following an extremely dull first half. Literally nothing of note happened in the first 45 minutes of Monday's match between Betis and Getafe, but the game sparked to life quickly in the second half, and the visitors came away 4-2 winners.

Very little happened in the first half between Getafe and Real Betis, but the game came alive with six second-half goals.

Alvaro had the first great chance of the match for Getafe in the 51st minute, when Pedro Leon hit a perfect cross into the center of the area, but Alvaro shanked high and wide when it was easier to score. Six minutes later, Betis brought on Jorge Molina for Joel Campbell, and he made an instant impact, setting up Ruben Castro for the opening goal.
Getafe bounced back in the 68th minute, on what looked like a free kick that presented little danger. Paco Alcacer won a lofted ball into the box from nearly 50 yards out and touched to Diego Castro, who finished to level the match at 1-1. Their lead didn’t last long, with Betis quickly turning the match on its head.
Beñat fired his side ahead with a brilliant free kick, curled to the top corner at the back post from 25 yards out. They struck again 90 seconds later to take full control of the match, with Castro netting his second of the game, assisted by Salva Sevilla.
Pedro Leon brought Getafe back into the game in the 89th minute on an excellent half-volley finish, assisted by Adrian Colunga with a great chip to the back post. They threw everyone forward in an attempt to find an equalizer and paid for it, giving up a three-on-none break to end the game. Sevilla finished easily with the last kick of the game, adding the exclamation point on the end of Betis’ win.
