FC Dallas needed to retool this offseason after a disappointing 2012 campaign and on Monday they got things going by signing defensive midfielder Peter Luccin. The 33-year-old last played for Lausanne-Sport, but left the club in April and has not played since.
Peter Luccin signs with FC Dallas
FC Dallas has signed Peter Luccin as a possible replacement for Julian De Guzman.

"Peter came in at the end of the season to be seen by the FC Dallas coaching staff," said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. "We were in the final two weeks of training, so he was being measured against a group of players who were very fit. He really impressed us. He can cover a lot of space in central midfield and he seldom loses the ball."
Dallas’ signing of Luccin appears to rule out the return of Julian De Guzman. It seemed unlikely that De Guzman would return anyways, but with an experienced defensive midfield coming in, De Guzman seems likely to be on the way out unless Dallas signed Luccin on a bargain.
Luccin started in Ligue 1, where he played for four clubs before transferring to Celta in La Liga. After three years with Celta, Luccin signed with Atletico Madrid, where he was a regular starter. Real Zaragoza and Racing Santander were next on Luccin’s list of stops before Lausanne-Sport and now, FC Dallas.
