Eintracht Frankfurt used a five minute spell in the first half to beat Wolfsburg 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The win takes them into third place in the table, while Wolfsburg fall for 15th place just seven points out of the relegation zone.

Eintracht Frankfurt scored twice in the first twenty minutes to ease past Wolfsburg.

The visitors took the lead after only 12 minutes thanks to leading scorer Alexander Meier. Pirmin Schwegler's free kick was lofted to the far post, and Meier beat everyone to it before heading it into the back of the net. The goal was Meier's eleventh on the season.
Things turned disastrous for Wolfsburg in the 16th minute when Josue was sent off for a foul on Olivier Occean. Frankfurt scored almost immediately. Stefan Aigner brought down a long ball out of the back at a full sprint before sending it across the penalty area to a wide open Takashi Inui. The Japanese midfielder wouldn’t miss from there and made it 2-0.
Wolfsburg spent the remainder of the match conceding possession and trying to prevent Frankfurt from scoring again. Frankfurt were content to control the match and see their point total go to 30 before the winter break.
