Borussia Dortmund find themselves eleven points behind in the title race after falling to Wolfsburg 3-2.

BVB started brightly, and Marco Reus scored a great free kick after only six minutes to make it 1-0. Then disaster struck in the 35th minute. The referee judged Marcel Schmelzer to have committed a handball on the goal line to block Diego’s shot, and he sent the BVB left back off. Diego stepped up and buried the penalty to make it 1-1.

Wolfsburg doubled their lead minutes later. Diego whipped in a free kick, and Naldo volleyed it past Roman Weidenfeller for the 2-1 halftime lead.

The hosts pulled level in the 61st minute on the second penalty of the day. Simon Kjær fouled Robert Lewandowski in the area and was shown a yellow card for the infraction. Jakub Blaszczykowski scored the spot kick to make it 2-2.

BVB were pressing forward looking for the winner, but they were caught on the break by Wolfsburg. Diego slotted a ball past the BVB defense, and Bas Dost beat Weidenfeller to make it 3-2.
