Manchester City vs. Manchester United: The first half in GIFs

Joe Hart let in a scuffed trickler, Rooney scored a second, and Mancini reacted with amazement in a great first half in Manchester.

Like so many players before him, ever since people started calling him potentially the world's greatest, Joe Hart has flapped, floundered and chucked more goals into his net than anyone. Not today, though. Today, he was simply content to sit and stare as Wayne Rooney's scuffed effort trickled into the corner of his net.

Shortly afterwards, United made it two, with a better-worked goal but still some dodgy defending from City to give Rooney the freedom of the area. Also note Rafael’s new haircut, obviously spiralled by a fit of depression after his 31st-minute substitution last week.

Gol

The most priceless shot of all, however, was Roberto Mancini's reaction to the second goal. He wasn't happy. Or really conscious of what was happening. 1355061613198

Of course, this is the same United defence that let in 3 goals in half an hour against Reading FC, so United aren't exactly home and dry. That Mancini GIF will be as good as a trophy for them this season, though. All three GIFs courtesy of Cadfael.
