LA Galaxy Acquire Kyle Nakazawa From Philadelphia Union

Peter Nowak's purge at PPL Park continues, this time in the form of a trade as the Philadelphia Union have traded Kyle Nakazawa to the LA Galaxy for an international roster spot and a second-round pick in the 2013 SuperDraft. It will be a homecoming for the UCLA alumna as he returns to Los Angeles in the Galaxy's effort to add depth, while the direction of the Union remains a mystery to everyone, except for Nowak assumedly.

Nakazawa will join a Galaxy team that has one of the best crops attackers that MLS has ever seen in Landon Donovan, David Beckham Robbie Keane and Edson Buddle, but they are in need of midfield depth and Kyle Nakazawa gives them that. With Beckham likely to miss a month while playing for the United Kingdom in the Olympics and fixture congestion brought on by MLS, Champions League and U.S. Open Cup play, Nakazawa should get plenty of chances to play.

Meanwhile in Philadelphia, it's tough to figure out exactly what Nowak is doing. Shipping out Nakazawa doesn't have nearly the impact of getting rid of Sebastien Le Toux, but the situation in Philadelphia is odd at best and there is no indication why the Union want the international roster spot they received.
