It took Charles N'Zogbia a while to get his first goal for Aston Villa, but that first goal was a timely one. Trailing 2-1 late on, Stiliyan Petrov got free down the left and crossed for Z'Nogbia, who drove a left-footed volley past Patrick Kenny to earn the home side a 2-2 draw against Queens Park Rangers.

Djibril Cisse also picked up his first goal for his club in the match, but instead of it taking half of a season like N'Zogbia, Cisse scored a day after joining QPR. Just 12 minutes into his first match with QPR, Cisse ran into the path of a terrible shot by Shaun Wright-Phillips and cooly finished low to open his QPR account.
QPR then saw their lead double, although they had little to do with it. Taye Taiwo's cross was right into the path of Stephen Warnock, who should have had no problem clearing the ball away, but it apparently was troublesome for Warnock. The Villa defender headed the ball back across to the far post and into his own net, leaving Shay Given flabbergasted and Villa down 2-0.
Darren Bent's 100th Premier League goal brought Villa to within one, then N'Zogbia finally got off the schneid with the equalizer 10 minutes from time. Villa will feel as if they should have won too with several questionable handball calls going against them and their utter dominance They had 26 shots, 12 on target, but they just couldn't get a gift from the football gods so a draw it is.
