KaBOOM! Alex has opened the scoring for Paris Saint-Germain against Montpellier with a stunning free kick just before halftime, putting the hosts on track for a big result against their closest contenders for the title. The former Chelsea fan is notorious for striking at range from dead balls, and so it proved here after Mapou Yangambiwa felled Nene. The wall broke up as the free kick was laid off to the centre back, and Alex hit the ball so hard that it completely wrong-footed Geoffrey Jourdren in the Montpellier goal -- he could only stare in horror as it fizzed its way into the back of the net.
