Montpellier have taken the lead at the Parc des Princes! With less than ten minutes to go, Montpellier look like they're about to go top of Ligue Un, leapfrogging Paris Saint-Germain in the process. The visitors have looked like the stronger side for most of the match, and PSG's defending has been somewhat suspect all game -- but the introduction of the fit-again Javier Pastore had given the hosts a boost and Montpellier's goal comes as something of a surprise.
Paris Saint-Germain Vs. Montpellier, 2012 Ligue 1: John Utaka Gives Montpellier Lead
Olivier Giroud, who's looked lively all evening, was the provider. The striker swung a brilliant cross in John Utaka's direction and neither centre back bothered picking the 30-year-old up, giving him a free header from six yards. In truth, said header was pretty awful. The effort was within arms' reach for goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, but the former Palermo man allowed it to squirm through his gloves and into the back of the net, giving Montpellier the 2-1 lead.
