Following Boca Juniors’ 0-0 draw with Zamora in Copa Libertadores, Juan Roman Riquelme and Julio Falcioni reportedly had an argument about tactics. Either there are still lingering effects from that argument or Riquelme was absolutely right to start it in the first place. Boca Juniors were poor going forward for the second game in a row on Sunday, drawing Union de Santa Fe 0-0. They attempted two shots.

Elsewhere in Argentina, their rivals for the Clausura title actually managed to put the ball into the back of the net, though one of them -- Lanus -- left it extremely late. Mariano Pavone rescued Lanus against a dreadful Independiente team they should have beaten much more easily with an 86th minute strike, giving Lanus a 1-0 win and sending them top of the table. They are the only team with six points.
Godoy Cruz and Velez Sarsfield played to a draw in Week 1, and the two contenders both added three points over the weekend. Velez absolutely slaughtered Banfield 4-0, leaving little doubt that El Taladro are the worst team in the tournament at the moment. Godoy Cruz had Juan Carlos Falcon sent off in the first half, but were still able to find a winner with 10 men against Racing, one of the division’s best defensive sides.
