Lyon Vs. Paris Saint-Germain, 2012 Ligue 1: Crazy First Half Ends 3-2 Lyon

If you're missing Lyon vs. Paris Saint-Germain, you're really missing out. The two sides are playing an absolute cracker at the Stade de Gerland, with defending pretty much nowhere to be seen and some beautiful attacking football on display. The hosts started on the front foot, putting some major pressure on Salvatore Sirigu's goal, but containing the likes of Javier Pastore and Nene was always going to be difficult ask for the home defence, and it was PSG who took the lead when Guillaume Hoarau slipped a shot into the bottom corner twenty minutes in.

They came close to adding to the 1-0 scoreline, with Hugo Lloris having to save well from Javier Pastore and then Alex, but Lyon were unfazed and came back in a big way. Bafetimbi Gomis ripped home a delightful volley from a floating Kim Kallstrom pass, Lisandro Lopez made it 2-0 a few seconds later, and Michel Bastos capped off an absolutely magical six-minute spell for the hosts by sending a screaming half-volley straight into the back of the net.

That score wouldn’t stand long either, however - in the last minute of first half stoppage time Maxime Gonalons cut down Nene in the box for reasons unknown, and the forward sent Lloris the wrong way with his penalty. It’s 3-2 to Lyon at the break, and you’d have to imagine that there are more goals in this.
