Many seasoned goal-scorers have converted penalties by chipping the ball straight at the goalkeeper. It goes against logic, but it seems to work a fair amount of the time. Problem is, you look really bad whenever it doesn't work. Just ask Vancouver Whitecaps forward Long Tan, who missed a penalty on Sunday in just about as embarrassing a way as possible:
