Bundesliga Sunday, Week 20: Köln Edge Kaiserslautern, Bremen Drop Two Points At Freiburg

SC Freiburg 2 - 2 Werder Bremen

Freiburg unbelievably came back twice to draw with Werder Bremen in what can only be seen as two points dropped for Die Grün-Weißen. Claudio Pizarro scored his 14th goal of the season at the half hour mark to put Bremen in front. However, this lead was short lived, and Cedrick Makiadi rose to head home a Michael Lumb corner. Pizarro struck against juts after the break with a shot to the far corner. They nearly extended the lead to 3-1 minutes later when Markus Rosenborg struck the post. Freiburg continued to fight back and were reward for their efforts in the 70th minute when Jonathan Schmid saw his shot go throw the hands of Tim Wiese before going in off of the post. Bremen have to be disappointed with dropping two points on the road against the team sitting bottom of the table.

FC Kaiserslautern 0 - 1 FC Köln

The home side had the opportunity to pull themselves out of the relegation with a win against a Köln team that had not won away from home since September 17. The visitors even came into this match without their best player and leading goalscorer Lukas Podolski who was out with an injury. Kaiserslautern started well, but they started to lose control of the match to Köln halfway through the first half. Then disaster struck FCK, when midfielder Ariel Borysiuk received his second yellow card and was sent off just before halftime. Köln manager Stale Solbakken made a substitution in the second half bringing on Albanian midfielder Odise Roshi. The substitution proved to be a brilliant move when Roshi leaped up and headed the ball past Kevin Trapp for the win.
