Following a second consecutive league defeat, resulting in a drop down the La Liga table into 11th position, Sevilla FC have sacked manager Marcelino Garcia Toral. Marcelino left his position at Racing Santander at the end of last season to take the vacant Sevilla job, but things have not gone as planned during this season. Sevilla have been strengthened with talented players during the last two transfer windows, but they have failed to achieve positive results.
Marcelino Garcia Toral Sacked By Sevilla
Sevilla have sacked manager Marcelino Garcia Toral after he went seven straight games without recording a league victory.

Sevilla has gone seven consecutive matches without a victory in the league. A managerial change could seriously alter their fortunes, however, as they are only six points out of fourth place and 11 points out of third. Sevilla have more talent and a larger budget than the majority of the teams ahead of them -- especially fourth-placed Levante -- so fourth place will be the goal for whoever takes over as Sevilla manager.
The team faces two very winnable games over their next two, away to Real Sociedad and at home to Osasuna. They will almost certainly want a permanent manager in place by February 26, when they face Valencia at the Mestalla.
