Already one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals in MLS, the LA Galaxy and Herbalife agreed to extend their relationship. The new deal will be for 10 years and be worth more than $44 million, the team announced. It is the longest and most lucrative sponsorship deal in MLS history.

“Herbalife bet on the Galaxy six years ago and now MLS has exploded in popularity and growth. For them to renew their partnership for this extended length is a tremendous mutual reward for both of us and a demonstration of their belief and faith in MLS,” Tim Leiweke, CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group, said in a statement. “To have this kind stability and strength in a partnership that will take us into the next decade is refreshing for the sports industry.”

The Galaxy and Herbalife first penned their agreement in 2007 when David Beckham was signed. Since then, the Galaxy's brand has only grown and it's hardly surprising that Herbalife was willing to sign on for an even longer agreement.

The only other deals that are comparable to this one in MLS are those between the Seattle Sounders and XBox; Toronto FC and BMO; and the Vancouver Whitecaps and Bell Canada. All three are rumored to be in the $4 million-a-year range.
