I’m not a big fan of in-game interviews. Generally speaking, they offer almost no insight. In the worst cases, they actively detract from the game. But every now and then, something really cool happens.
VIDEO: John Spencer Calls Darlington Nagbe’s Goal
Such was the case on Saturday when Portland Timbers coach John Spencer was being interviewed during the second half. As luck would have it, Timbers announcer John Strong was asking Spencer about putting Darlington Nagbe into the lineup. Right on cue, Nagbe gets the ball near the penalty area and it gives Spencer a chance to answer "THAT'S WHAT HE PROVIDES," just as his forward punches it in the goal. Watch:
