The weekend’s remaining Serie A, Serie B, and Lega Pro matches have been suspended following the death of 25-year-old Livorno midfielder Piermario Morosini. They will be played next weekend, with week 34 played midweek.
Postponed Serie A Matches Scheduled For Next Week
After the tragic death of Piermario Morosini during Livorno’s match against Pescara on Saturday, all matches in Italy last weekend were postponed. That meant that there were ten games to fit somewhere into an already busy schedule, so there was some question as to when they’d actually end up being played.
As of now, it’s not clear when the Serie B matches will be replayed, but it’s probably safe to assume a similar schedule, since they also have next midweek free.

All remaining Serie A, Serie B and Lega Pro matches scheduled for April 14-15 were called off after the death of Piermario Morosini, who collapsed in the 31st minute of Pescara - Livorno. While the FIGC has made no official announcement, reports suggest that all Serie A matches scheduled for Week 33 will be played next weekend, April 21-22. This shift in games would force Week 34 into a midweek round in the week following, on April 25. Alternatively, next weekend’s matches could remain the same, with Week 33 shifting to the midweek fixtures. This would be most logical, but since when has the FIGC been known as logical?
For now, though, no one is complaining about the fixture shuffle. Instead, the focus remains on Morosini and the questions that remain after the death of the 25-year-old midfielder. In a league often divided by accusations of favoritism and bias, this tragedy has reminded clubs and individuals where their true attention should be.
