With their offense struggling to score goals, Chivas USA managed to find some reinforcements just before the close of the Primary Transfer Window by signing Colombian teenager Jose Erick Correa. The 19-year-old had been playing for Colombian first-division side Boyacá Chicó FC and was the league's second-leading scoring with six goals in 12 matches.
Chivas USA Sign Colombian Teen Jose Erick Correa
Chivas USA bolsters its attack with the signing of Colombian 19-year-old Jose Erick Correa.
"He’s a great young talent that will come and help us right away, and also learn a lot from our experienced forwards like Juan Pablo Angel and Alejandro Moreno," Chivas USA General Manager Jose Domene said in a team release. "He is a player that is very interesting because he’s big, strong and fast. He’s young so we look forward to having him around for many years."
Correa is listed at about 6-foot-1 and has reportedly received a call-up to the Colombian national team. A report on the Colombian league’s website says Chico has retained 20 percent of his rights.
