It's time for the marquee match of the MLS weekend as the LA Galaxy visit Sporting Kansas City. David Beckham didn't travel to Kansas City and will miss the match so there isn't quite the star power that many were expecting, but it is still a fantastic match. Sporting are looking to continue their perfect start and make a claim for being not the best team in the East, but the best in MLS. Meanwhile, the Galaxy are sputtering and really need a statement win to build some confidence. This would certainly be a statement win.
Sporting Kansas City Vs. LA Galaxy, 2012 MLS: Lineups
Both teams are in their usual formations, with Sporting in a 4-3-3 and the Galaxy in a 4-4-2. It's Sporting's first choice team as they have everyone at their disposal, while the Galaxy are a little short-handed with Michael Stephens in for Beckham and Mike Magee sliding inside. Tommy Meyer is also getting the start over Andrew Boyens, but that is more a matter of choice than fitness so no complaining from the Galaxy on that one if the rookie runs into trouble
