LA Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders has entered a substance-abuse treatment program and is "out indefinitely," according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. Saunders missed the Galaxy's last game with what was deemed "personal reasons" and had already been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Seattle Sounders.

Bill Gaudette got the start last Saturday when the Galaxy tied FC Dallas and is expected take over the No. 1 spot with Saunders out. Brian Perk would be the Galaxy's other option, but he has just one career MLS start on his resume.
This would potentially mark the first extended MLS run out for Gaudette since he started 11 matches for the Columbus Crew in 2006. That year, he saved 78 percent of the shots he faced and recorded three shutouts. But he was relegated to a backup role the next year and spent the next four seasons with the Puerto Rico Islanders and Montreal Impact, where he was one of the top goalkeepers in the second division.
