Jose Mourinho has signed a new deal with Real Madrid that will see the Special One at the club’s helm through the end of the 2015/16 season.

So much for Jose Mourinho's troubles at Real Madrid. The veteran manager had been hinting all season of a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, with both Chelsea and Manchester City agitating for Mourinho to return to England, but the 'Special One' distanced himself from the idea of leaving following Madrid's semifinal loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League in April. And now he's officially committed his future to the club.

Real Madrid have issued a statement confirming that Mourinho's deal has been extended through the 2015/16 season. Having succeeded in overhauling some of the clubs internal procedures, the manager has triumphed on the pitch as well, wresting the La Liga title back from Barcelona and setting a domestic points record in the process. Real Madrid are moving in the right direction, and it would come as something of a surprise if they didn't record at least one Champions League win before the end of his time at the club.
