Osvaldo Alonso and Hector Jimenez were each suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount for what the MLS Disciplinary Committee deemed "reckless challenges" in Wednesday's games. The Seattle Sounders will miss Alonso for Saturday's game against Chivas USA and the June 16 game against the Montreal Impact. The LA Galaxy will be without Jimenez for this weekend's match at Houston and their June 17 match against the Timbers.

Alonso's tackle came in the 82nd minute of the Sounders' 2-0 loss to the Columbus Crew when he "left his feet, showed his studs and used excessive force," according to the Disciplinary Committee.
The MLS DC described Jimenez’s 59th minute tackle with almost the exact same verbiage. While Alonso was not shown a card, Jimenez was given a straight red and was already going to be suspended for one game. The DC tacked on another game, as well as a fine for his tackle.
