There are a lot of tired and suspended players for this week’s midweek matches, which as we know, are less than enticing to begin with.
Chicago Fire Vs. Real Salt Lake, 2012 MLS: I Hope You Didn’t Watch
It’s not that the match was a scoreless draw, because there are some scoreless draws that are incredibly entertaining. The match was awful because the midfields were awful and couldn’t move the ball. It was like watching a bunch of 5-year-olds play AYSO, or mushball if you prefer, except they’re not cute like little kids, there are no delicious snacks afterward and you don’t have a son or daughter in the game that forces you to care.
If you would like, the match could be described as 90 minutes of exquisite midfield defending, with players quick to close down and tackle, but nobody would call it that unless one of the players was your son and, like in 5-year-old AYSO, you were forced to care.
