Sweden Vs. England, Euro 2012: Glen Johnson Own Goal Ties The Match

England have failed to hold on to a 1-0 lead for the second consecutive game in Euro 2012. This time, they put the equalizer in themselves, though there was nothing that they could do about it. The goal will go down as an own goal credited to right back Glen Johnson, but he certainly doesn't deserve it. Sweden created it through a set piece, with Olaf Mellberg giving Johnson no chance to keep the ball out of the back of the net.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic hit the wall with a 49th minute free kick and Andy Carroll appeared to be in good position to make a clearance, but failed to do so and the ball broke to Mellberg. He pounced and took a rather uncharacteristic strike with his right foot, which Joe Hart made contact with but couldn't stop. The ball bounced towards the net and Johnson almost made a spectacular clearance off the line, but he hit the post with his clearance attempt and the ball ricochet into the net to make it 1-1.
