USA Vs. Canada: Clarence Goodson Misses First Great Chance

It took only two minutes for the United States to get their first great chance of the match and remind Canada that they are going to have an uphill battle tonight. A corner kick made it right in front of goal, but Clarence Goodson couldn't turn it on goal and it went wide. Still, the U.S. has made it clear from the very start that they intend to take it to Canada.

Usually Goodson is very good on corner kicks, but that is with his head. This time the ball was flicked on to the front of goal with the net empty, but Goodson had to play it with his feet. It was an awkward attempt from the center back, who can’t be faulted for missing the chance -- but it was a good chance and the right touch would have put the ball into the gaping goal.
