This Clint Dempsey fellow, he is good at soccer. The first touch, the turn, the ball, the run, all gorgeous by Dempsey and he almost got a goal as a reward.
USA Vs. Canada: Clint Dempsey Is Good
There is no doubt that Dempsey is the United States' best player and he showed why in combining with Landon Donovan to almost score the opening goal of the game. A turn that he made look so simple is extraordinarily hard and then he fed Donovan. Donovan then played a first touch one-two with Dempsey, who was in behind the Canada defense. Dempsey got to the ball just before the goalkeeper, but the keeper was right on top of Dempsey and there to save it.
Most of the credit will go Donovan and his pass, as well as the good run by Dempsey, but don’t overlook the great turn by Dempsey. That turn made the whole play possible. You know, because Dempsey is good.
